The £5,000 Website Lesson

Recruitment websites have traditionally been little more than digital shop windows. Redsun founder Ayrton Moore thinks they should be doing far more than that. Having spent thousands on websites while running his own recruitment agency, he decided to build something different. This is the story behind Redsun, told by Ayrton.

Just like most of us, I fell into recruitment.

Straight out of uni, with a child on the way and bills to pay, I grabbed a sales job. Twelve months later, I was a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed junior recruitment consultant in the engineering space.

Recruitment has been great to me. But there was always another love in my life: marketing.

Eventually, I set up my own recruitment agency in the US EV charging market. As a solo operator, I spent more than £5,000 on websites and learned the hard way that, for most recruitment businesses, they can become a bit of a money pit.

That experience ultimately led to RedSun Innovations.

The thing is, recruitment has never really needed inbound marketing. We’re pretty damn good at going out and finding the business ourselves.

So, for years, the recruitment website has largely been a brochure. A client hears your name, checks you out. A candidate wants to know if you’re legitimate, checks you out. Job done.

Except I became convinced it could do a lot more than that.

Your website should be helping you get found. It should be learning from the data already sitting inside your business. It should stay fresh without someone constantly having to feed it. And, crucially, it should give the people who land there a reason to do something.

That’s what we’ve built with Redsun.

Redsun is the data intelligence layer sitting between your CRM and your marketing. It powers your website with always-on optimisation, up-to-date content and fresh insights, while you get on with running your recruitment business.

It helps your brand show up in Google search and the LLMs, then gives the people who find you a reason to convert.

Because recruitment agency owners shouldn’t have to become marketing experts to get more from their website.

Now they don’t.

Your website already costs you money. The question is whether it’s earning its keep. See what Redsun is doing differently.
