Spott raises $21m to challenge recruitment's ageing technology

Belgian recruitment technology company Spott has secured $21 million in Series A funding, led by Balderton Capital, as it looks to accelerate the development of its AI-native recruitment platform.

Founded in 2024, Spott is building an all-in-one ATS and CRM designed to reduce the reliance on disconnected recruitment software. Its platform brings candidate management, sourcing, outreach and automation together, using AI to reduce administration and help recruiters spend more time building relationships and making placements.

Spott’s founders have combined first-hand industry experience with technical ambition to tackle recruitment’s outdated infrastructure, with rapid customer adoption demonstrating strong demand for their solution.

The investment, which also includes backing from Base10 Partners, Y Combinator and Fortino, will support international expansion, further product development and the introduction of more advanced AI capabilities. The company is opening offices in New York and Sydney.

Spott's ambition is not to replace recruiters but to remove much of the manual work surrounding them, while keeping important hiring decisions in human hands.

The opportunity isn't necessarily to buy more technology. It might be to simplify what you've already got.
